5th Grade Safety PatrolEast End needs 5th grade students to serve as Safety Patrol members.

Bulldog Safety Patrol

The East End Elementary Safety Patrol Team has been established to recognize those students who possess and demonstrate positive leadership skills, personal responsibility, and good academic skills.  The goal of the safety patrol is to allow its members to explore and develop such important leadership skills as responsibility, dependability, assertiveness and cooperation.  They also serve as examples of behavior and manners for younger students in the school.  The safety patrol assists the school’s teachers and administrators in morning arrival and afternoon departure of students.

Patrols must be 5th grade students who are willing to come to school early (7:40) for morning arrival or stay late for afternoon dismissal (2:45).  All morning Patrols report to class promptly after duty.  All afternoon Patrols must report to the front dismissal area promptly after duty ends.  The job of a safety patrol member is taken very seriously at East End.

To become a Safety Patrol member, students must be recommended by their classroom teacher based on the criteria below:

  • Be responsible
  • Be a positive role model
  • Have self-control
  • Follow directions
  • Be attentive
  • Be respectful
  • Be a good leader
  • Be punctual
  • Have a good attendance record
  • Be reliable
  • Be mature

Teachers recommendations will be requested by Mrs. Day from the classroom teachers.

Applications are due to the school by July 22nd. These can be e-mailed to Tammy Day (TammyDay@pickens.k12.sc.us ) or mailed to the school at: East End Elementary, 505 East 2nd Avenue, Easley, SC 29640. All applications will be reviewed and students’ teachers will be involved in the approval process.
