Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
I am very excited to share that we are able to begin with Safety Patrols for our 5th graders! I realize we are in the 4th nine weeks, but I wanted to give our current 5th graders (now that protocols have changed) a chance to be a Safety Patrol. We need morning and afternoon patrols. We typically also invite 4th graders to serve as Bulldog Buddies, but I am offering this to our 5th graders only since the 4th graders will have the opportunity next year. The application is attached and linked below. I will also send home paper copies on Thursday to anyone who needs them. Applications are due back to the school by Friday, March 25th so that we can announce and train our safety patrols to begin on Tuesday, March 29th. Morning patrols need to arrive at 7:30 a.m. each morning and afternoon patrols will remain on duty until we 2:40 p.m. each day. Those who participate will need transportation to school to arrive by 7:30 a.m. or transportation to be picked-up at 2:40 p.m. when afternoon duty ends.
We’ll celebrate with our regular recognition of safety patrols on our Awards Day programs and have an end-of-year party, just the same as if we had been able to do this all year. If your child is interested, please have them complete the attached or linked application (or get a paper copy from me on Thursday) and return to school by Friday. I am very excited about this opportunity! Our fifth graders have been beyond amazing and I want them to have this chance now that our protocols have changed.
