Wild About Reading Night was a great event that allowed us to bring literacy to life. The United Way of Pickens County provided a copy of The Wild Robot to every East End Student. We are reading this book through the month of October at East End. We will learn about the many adventures of ROZ this month.
In addition, families recieved a Literacy Kit to help develop decoding skills at home. The families can learn to segment and blend words with chips and sound boxes. Our families were also given a tool to help them ask their child about he or she is reading.
Scaly Adventures, dinner, and the book fair were also very big hits for the night. We enjoyed getting to meet Ginger. We appreciate our community partner Two Bros for helping us get enough PIZZA to feed everyone.
It was a great success and we will share a little more about the adventures of ROZ in an upcoming Fun Friday Event.
