Parents, we know that phones, games, and screens are part of everyday life. But for many families they’re also bringing more stress, more arguments, less sleep, shorter attention spans, and increased anxiety for kids.
School District of Pickens County is partnering with Parent ProTech to offer a helpful session designed just for parents.
Tuesday, March 24 (ONLY ONE SESSION)
6:00 PM
East Pickens Baptist Church
2244 Gentry Memorial Highway
Pickens, SC 29642
During this practical session, Mr. Joshua Adams from Parent ProTech will help parents understand what’s really happening with kids and technology and show how to set reasonable screen limits, have better conversations with kids about devices, and build a simple, realistic plan for technology at home.
Parents will leave with clear, doable ideas and helpful conversation starters they can start using right away.
Parent ProTech is offered free to all SDPC families and includes access to tools, tech guides, and a K–12 digital citizenship curriculum used by thousands of schools across the country.

💖 Share the Love Challenge 💖
We’re excited to share a fun and meaningful way for our community to celebrate and support our schools this month—the SDPC Love a School Call Line!
This initiative gives staff, students, families, and community members a simple way to share their voice by calling in and leaving a short message about what they love most about their school. Every call helps spread joy, pride, and appreciation across our district.

💙❤️ Happy School Counselor Week! ❤️💙
Today we want to give a HUGE thank you to Dr. Freitag, who is truly the heart of East End Elementary. 💫
Dr. Freitag starts every single morning making sure our campus is safe by directing traffic and greeting our Bulldogs with a smile. From there, his day only grows in impact. He leads our Bulldogs of the Month, organizes weekend backpack food, coordinates our annual school supply drive, and helps operate our food pantry to support families in need.
He meets monthly with students for character lessons, teaching life skills that go far beyond the classroom. Most importantly, Dr. Freitag is always available — for students, parents, and staff — with a listening ear, wise guidance, and a caring heart.
East End Elementary is better because of him. Our students are stronger because of him. And our community is blessed because of him.
💙🐾 We love you, Dr. Freitag. Thank you for all you do for EEE! 🐾💙

Let’s work together to help our kids thrive in a tech-saturated world. We hope to see you there! 💙📲

January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we cannot say thank you enough to Mrs. Garrison and Mrs. Kelley for their continued support of East End Elementary.
These two incredible board members pour their time, wisdom, and heart into making our school—and all of Pickens County—stronger. Their commitment to our students, staff, and families helps create the environment where our little Bulldogs can learn, grow, and shine.
At East End, we believe in Bravely Leading, Actively Engaging, Respecting Others, and Keeping Kindness, and Mrs. Garrison and Mrs. Kelley model every single piece of our BARK expectations.
So today, join Buster Bulldog and the entire EEE family as we say…
✨ THANK YOU for loving, supporting, and believing in East End Elementary!
✨ THANK YOU for serving our community with excellence!
✨ THANK YOU for helping shape the future of our Bulldogs!
We are better because of you. ❤️🐾📚

We can’t wait to see all the festive fun and holiday cheer walking through our halls. Break out your brightest, boldest, most wonderfully ugly Christmas sweaters and let’s celebrate together!
Let’s see all those sweaters, Bulldogs — we know you’ll make it merry and bright! ❤️💚

At East End, we believe excellence isn’t an act — it’s a habit built through hard work, focus, and determination every single day! 💪🐾 Our Bulldogs finish the week strong by giving their best effort in everything they do — from the classroom to the playground.
We’re proud of the dedication we see shining through our halls — because Excellence Lives Here at East End Elementary! ❤️🖤

It is with great pride and excitement that I share some wonderful news — East End Elementary has earned an Excellent rating on the South Carolina State Report Card!
This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our entire school community. Our students have shown determination and a love for learning, our teachers and staff have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional instruction and support, and our families have partnered with us every step of the way. Together, we have created a school environment where every child can grow, achieve, and thrive.
At East End, we truly are a family — one that celebrates success, supports one another, and keeps our students at the heart of everything we do. This “Excellent” rating is not just a score; it’s a reflection of the care, commitment, and collaboration that make our school so special.
Thank you for your continued support and for believing in our mission to inspire excellence every day. I am so proud to serve as your Principal and to celebrate this milestone with each of you.
With gratitude and pride,
Chris Brewington
Principal, East End Elementary
